“This year, our K-Content lineup delivers a diverse array of titles that capture the true essence of Korean storytellers. Whether it’s series, films, or innovative unscripted shows, we’ll share unforgettable experiences with entertainment fans worldwide and unmissable titles that you can enjoy only on Netflix,” says Don Kang, Vice President of Content (Korea), Netflix.

Anticipated returns of beloved characters and iconic worlds
Fan favourites are finally returning this year, with the world holding its breath for the second season of Squid Game. Sweet Home Season 3 starring Song Kang will premiere this summer, as monsterization ends and a new humanity begins. The second season of Gyeongseong Creature transports Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee to present-day Seoul, and Hellbound Season 2 delves into the aftermath of the chaos in Season 1.

Netflix’s Korean unscripted shows, which broke new ground last year, are making stronger comebacks with trailblazing elements. Physical: 100 Season 1 was the first unscripted series to be #1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list. With Physical: 100 Season 2Underground, a fresh group of 100 contestants from even more varied backgrounds will test their limits in large-scale challenges in a new underground concept. Meanwhile, Zombieverse is upgrading its zombies in the second season, making it even harder for the new cast to survive.

On the back of a successful Season 3, which surprised viewers with unexpected rules changes and twists, Single’s Inferno becomes the first Korean unscripted show to be renewed for a fourth season on Netflix, with a new group of the hottest and flirtiest singles continuing their search for love. To take temperatures up a notch, talk show Risqué Business expands its horizons from Asia to feature those in the adult entertainment industry in Europe.

From thrillers and romance to comedy and action, a gripping series for everyone
Netflix continues to serve up romance stories that will make your heart both sing and sink, as enemies become lovers. Set against a historical backdrop, Captivating the King explores love in a game of Go, while the modern-day Queen of Tears reunites an estranged couple, featuring the long-awaited return of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won to the genre. In addition, Doctor Slump adds a medical twist to romantic comedy, and Resident Playbook (WT) features Go Youn Jung in the spin-off of Hospital Playlist.

To shake up the genre, unique twists can be found in series like Mr. Plankton, where an unhappy woman accompanies her ex-boyfriend on the final journey of his life to search for his biological parents; Hierarchy, a teen revenge romance; and The Trunk starring the legendary Gong Yoo, where dark secrets from a clandestine matchmaking service come to light.

For suspense enthusiasts, The Bequeathed weaves murders and dark secrets with foreboding family burial grounds. In A Killer Paradox, Choi Woo Sik and Son Suk Ku play an intricate game of chasing each other, while The Frog takes viewers to a motel deep in the woods to solve a case. K-dramas this year not only involve solving crimes, but The Whirlwind also introduces a political feud to be settled.

Laugh out loud with Chicken Nugget and delve into black comedy with The 8 Show, both based on popular webtoons. Parasyte: The Grey will further bring the world of the beloved manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki to life in an all-new setting and story: Korea.

Films that pack a punch and unscripted shows that ignite the imagination
This year, Netflix will pull out all stops and expand the diversity of its film lineup, with each title headlined by world-class Korean talent who have put their heart and soul into each film. Genres include romance and drama My Name is Loh Kiwan with Song Joong Ki, action with Kim Woo Bin, sci-fi disaster The Great Flood with Park Hae Soo, dystopian sci-fi Badland Hunters with Don Lee, and historical Uprising with Gang Dong Won. Notably, Uprising marks Netflix’s first collaboration with the eminent Park Chan Wook.

Likewise, Netflix is taking unscripted shows to the next level, with debut series featuring inventive themes and unprecedented scale. Special agents solve bizarre cases in Agents of Mystery and multibillionaires show off their life of luxury in Super Rich in Korea. In The Influencer, South Korean influencers compete for attention, while Unknown Chefs (WT) gather 100 cooks for a fierce culinary showdown.
