A delightful fruity snack is the perfect addition to any summer garden party.
And if you’re fond of strawberries, then this social media sensation touted as the “snack of the summer” by foodie Skylar Toth is just for you.
The online star shared a video on how to make the viral strawberry bites people have been talking about. And it seems quite a few people plan to make them.
In a video, Skylar said: “Okay I definitely thought these would be overrated but WOW. So good, snack of the summer”, followed by a strawberry emoji.
The recipe has been taking over social media due to its simplicity and convenience; with no baking involved, just a stint in the fridge.
Starting the process, Skylar meticulously cleaned her strawberries before sizing them down further than a typical bite-size portion. These pieces are then given a mix with yoghurt and honey until it reaches a substantial thickness.
On a prepared tray, distribute the mixture evenly into six portions as Skylar does and place them in the freezer to harden.
Once they are adequately frozen, don’t forget to have a bowl of your preferred molten chocolate ready for dunking them in, guaranteeing a uniform coating of chocolate.
As the final part of the process, return the now chocolate-covered delights back into the freezer. Once they’ve completely frozen, you’ll have a delicious sweet treat that’s ideal for parties.
In the lively comment section, enthusiasts shared their own twists on the recipe, with one saying: “I make this and then I also do vanilla Greek yoghurt mix with melted peanut butter and banana chunks and then freeze. Cover in chocolate and freeze again. Soooo good.”
Another chimed in with a fitness-friendly version: “I do strawberry Greek yoghurt (Oikos 20g protein) to make them a good snack after the gym”.
Not everyone was impressed by the concoction, as one critic suggested: “Just eat the strawberries plain. So delicious”. This prompted a retort from a supportive mum, who said: “Sometimes we want a little more of a treat and there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m gonna make ’em for me and my kiddo.”
