If there is anyone who knows about the best luggage to last multiple trips, its cabin crew and travel industry workers who jet off around the world for a living. As you might imagine, some of the most long-lasting suitcases can be a bit of an investment, but that’s not always the case. According to reviews from flight attendants and travel agents, there is a purse-friendly option currently available on Amazon, that is surprisingly strong and reliable.
U.S. Traveler is an American luggage brand that isn’t widely available in the UK usually, though thanks to Amazon you can get your hands on a few of the brand’s most popular models. One of these is the Rio set, which comes with a two-wheel, expandable suitcase and a smaller carry on cabin bag.
The rolling suitcase measures approximately 53 x 33 x 19 cm, meaning it will fit as a cabin bag for airlines which allow a slightly more lenient luggage allowance. For example, both Jet2’s baggage allowance and British Airways will allow this bag as a carry-on item.
The smaller bag is great for using as a small hand luggage item and packing any essentials you need to hand.
“I’m a flight attendant and I absolutely LOVE this luggage set!” said cabin crew member, Kim, in a review on Amazon. “Sure, there are other brands to recommend, but THIS was a pleasant surprise. I am shocked at how durable and dependable this set is! I have received multiple compliments on this luggage from other flight attendants, and that’s very telling in itself.”
The suitcase comes with an expandable feature, just in case you need to pack in some extra souvenirs on your return journey home. ” The expandable feature on the suitcase is superb and I still have so much room in it even when I overpack,” added Kim.
A second cabin crew member, Scottie, added: “As a new flight attendant I couldn’t afford the travel pro line, but this set had been absolutely great.”
But it wasn’t just flight attendant’s who were so happy with the twin luggage set. Travel agent Cynthia left a review, stating: “I’m sure you could buy more expensive carry-on bags, but as a former travel agent who traveled the world for over 30 years, I’ve seen my expensive bags ripped apart by rough baggage handlers and bag conveyor belts as many times as I’ve seen cheap bags ripped apart.
“I highly recommend this superb set of low-priced carry-on bags for anyone who travels at all. I was blown away by the quality for this extremely reasonable price.”
The U.S Traveler set is not the only baggage that has been recommended by cabin crew. Though a little more expensive than the U.S Traveler, Travel Pro is another luggage brand that is widely recommended by cabin crew online.
The recommendation first caught our attention in a TikTok video posted by American flight attendant Sharmy, who shared travel insider tips and stories on her page @S.harmyy. According to the cabin crew member, its the quality of Travel Pro’s products that make them such a must-have item for professional travellers.
“But in addition to our luggage being a part of our appearance guidelines, travel pro is actually just really good quality stuff,” she continued.
“As someone who decided not to buy the Travel Pro suitcase when I was in airline training, I went through a suitcase every two months.
“In this job, we beat suitcases down. We cannot use the same suitcases as the casual traveller who is going to Disney once a year. You will be dragging 50 pounds of your stuff through the airport with a broken wheel or a broken handle. Travelpro just is made well and lasts a really long time.”
