A COUPLE who died in a horror motorbike crash in the Scottish Borders have been named by police.
The fatal collision happened on the A6088 road, which runs for 14 miles through the countryside, on Sunday afternoon.
Andrew Lartey, 29, and his pillion passenger Georgia Tate, 23, were killed in the smash on their Kawasaki ZX1400 motorbike between Bonchester Bridge and Carter Bar.
The couple were both from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Andrew and Georgia’s families paid tribute to the pair, saying they are “devastated by the loss”.
A statement release through Police Scotland read: “We are devastated by the loss of Georgia and Andrew, they will be sorely missed by all who knew them. We ask for our privacy to be respected at this difficult time.”
Distraught friends also paid tribute on social media to the couple.
One pal said: “Struggling to believe that this has actually happened and this isn’t some sort of nightmare but I can’t express how much I’ll miss you both.
“Andrew Lartey, you’ve been a close and amazing friend since we were 17 and it’s cruel and not fair that you’re no longer with us. The memories I have will never go away and it hurts so much thinking about them.
“Georgia Tate you brought so much happiness to his life and he loved you eternally. You were both such beautiful people, we’d asked you to sing at our wedding and I don’t think I can do justice in words to explain how much you both meant to me.
