FIREFIGHTERS are battling a blaze which ripped through a flat in a Scots city.
Mercy crews were called to the ground-floor property on Niddrie Mill Crescent, Edinburgh, at around 6:30pm.
Three fire appliances and a height vehicle were dispatched to the three-storey block.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a number of casualties are receiving treatment from paramedics at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6:33pm to reports of a ground floor flat on fire in a three-storey block.
“Operations control mobilised three fire appliances and one height vehicle to Niddrie Mill Crescent in Edinburgh.
“A number of casualties are receiving treatment at the scene.
“Crews are still in attendance.”

A section of the street has been sealed off with police tape as crews battle the flames.
