Family Star Box Office Collection Day 2: Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, was finally released in theatres on April 5, 2024. On its second day at the box office, the movie witnessed a dip. Even while the Telugu family drama made a respectable amount of money, its total receipts stand at Rs 9.75 crore. The movie made Rs 4 crore on its second day of business, according to a Sacnilk report. Family Star has made Rs 5.75 crore on its first day of sales. The entire Telugu occupancy rate for the film was 28.62%, whilst the Tamil version had an occupancy rate of 18.39%.
Since there haven’t been any major releases like this one up to this point, the box office figures should increase during the weekend. It’s interesting to note that the movie debuted in the US one day ahead of its release in India on April 4.
Vijay Deverakonda’s Lowest Opening With Family Star
Family Star is now Vijay Deverakonda’s lowest opening weekend at the box office after failing to break the Rs 10 crore barrier in just two days of release. Khushi, Deverakonda’s last movie starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, debuted with nearly three times more box office receipts. In its first day alone, the movie brought in Rs 15.25 crore. The movie has already surpassed the Rs 20 crore milestone in just two days. His 2022 Bollywood debut picture Liger, starring Ananya Panday, took in Rs 15.95 crore at the box office when it first premiered and went on to make more than Rs 23 crore in only two days.
About Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Family Star’
Family Star received clearance from CBFC for two hours, forty-three minutes and twenty seconds duration. The Censor Board has recommended five edits, including a sequence that used an excessive amount of liquor labels and five swear words.
Under the direction of Parasuram Petla, The Family Star is led by Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda. Dil Raju’s production was released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, among other languages. Rashmika Mandanna has a cameo in the film, in addition to supporting appearances from Abhinaya, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, and Ravi Babu. For the unversed, Vijay and Mrunal collaborated for the first time for the family drama.
Govardhan Rao, the youngest brother of Vijay, assumes responsibility for the family’s management. He manages the family’s money carefully, but everything changes in his life when Indu, played by Mrunal starts renting out a part of his house.
