But new flights offering easier connections has seen UK holidaymakers surpass pre-pandemic numbers.

More than 820,000 people arrived on the island in the first 10 months of 2024, up 6.5 per cent on 2023.

And UK visitors were up 16 per cent year-on-year in the first 10 months.

Brits can currently fly from the UK via Tokyo, Singapore and San Francisco as well as LA and Hong Kong, Travel Weekly reports, with easy connection times.

And a new flight launching on December 10 will allow flights from the UK to Fiji with an easy connection in Dallas.

Tourism Fiji chief executive Brent Hill praised the “landmark year” with record-breaking tourist numbers,

“The future of tourism in Fiji is bright, with exciting new developments and global recognition for our hospitality. We’re proud to share the warmth and magic of Fiji with more visitors than ever before, as we continue to grow sustainably and authentically.”

UK & European regional director Jane West also said: “It’s exciting to see UK visitor numbers go from strength to strength as more Brits enjoy Fiji’s unique hospitality, beautiful beaches, community tourism and incredible adventure offering.”

New resorts are also cropping up on the island too.

We’ve even found seven-night holiday packages for as little as £1,463pp, including return flights and hotels.

The best time to visit Fiji is between June and September, with it being the dry season and temperature highs of 30C.

Most people visit for a beach holiday although scuba diving and snorkeling is also a popular activity.

Otherwise visit in May or October for cheaper and quieter hotels but still good weather, being the shoulder season of the dry and wet seasons.

October even has its independence celebrations, Fiji Day, as well as the country’s largest music festival, Uprising Beach Resort.

Make sure to catch a rugby game too, with it being one of the most popular sports in Fiji, as well as try one of their many spicy curries thanks to the Indian influences throughout.
