ZEE5’s recently released crime drama series ‘Murshid’ has been noted by viewers and critics for its fresh take on the gangster genre. The series follows Murshid Pathan, a former underworld kingpin of the 1990s, played by Kay Kay Menon. As Pathan attempts to distance himself from his past, he is drawn back into the dangerous world he sought to escape when his former associate Farid, portrayed by Zakir Hussain, threatens everything Pathan values.

Among the standout performances in this star-studded cast is Tanuj Virwani, whose popularity has been steadily rising in recent years. Virwani’s involvement in the project came about through his previous collaboration with director Shravan Tiwari. Speaking about his role in ‘Murshid’, Tanuj shared, “When I got the call from our director Shravan Sir, I didn’t hesitate for a moment. I told him, ‘Whether it’s for one scene or one role, I’m ready. The opportunity to work alongside legends like Zakir Sir and Kay Kay Menon sir was simply too good to pass up. For me, it’s like attending an acting school firsthand. Sharing screen space with such incredible talent automatically elevates your game. It’s the kind of experience that pushes you to grow as an actor, and I’m grateful for every moment of it.”
