ZEE5, one of India’s top streaming platforms, has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming original film Love, Sitara. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and directed by Vandana Kataria, the film offers a fresh take on a family drama, peeling back the layers of what seems like a perfect household to reveal the raw emotions underneath. As the film releases on OTT today, Sobhita Dhulipala, who plays the lead role of Sitara, spoke to Bollywood Hungama about her experience and what drew her to the project.

A Headstrong and Emotional Character
When asked about what led her to say yes to the role, Sobhita Dhulipala shared her thoughts on the character of Sitara and the film’s overall message.
“Sitara is headstrong but also extremely emotional and impulsive as a character, it’s an exciting mix,” Dhulipala explained. “The script takes the audiences through a very relatable journey as every family has complications as well as layers in their relationships. This subject explores those layers with a lot of humour, sensitivity and moments that will melt your heart. Being a family girl at heart, this story appealed to me immediately.”
Sobhita Dhulipala Relates to Sitara’s Complexity
Sobhita Dhulipala’s portrayal of Sitara Nair promises to offer audiences a rich and layered character. While Sitara may be confident and charismatic, she is also sensitive and emotional—traits that make her both relatable and compelling.
When asked whether she saw herself in the character, Dhulipala responded:
“I definitely enjoyed playing Sitara Nair, a confident, charming young lady who is also extremely emotional and sensitive. I admire well-developed female characters, and this is definitely one of those. There’s something wonderful about someone who speaks their mind without fear, whether they are liked for it or not—Sitara is that person and that’s a quality I related to.”
The film is exclusively available on ZEE5 from September 27, giving viewers the chance to dive into this heartwarming tale.
