Recently, he opened up in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama about his role in Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, his experience on the sets, and what fans can expect from him in the future.

Ashrut Jain’s performance in Sikandar Ka Muqaddar has received rave reviews from audiences worldwide. The film, which stars Jimmy Shergill, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Avinash Tiwary, has been well-received both in India and internationally. “The response has been absolutely stunning. The movie has been dubbed in Spanish, and I’m getting fan mail from all over the world,” he revealed. He expressed his gratitude for the global reach of his work, which has been warmly welcomed by fans.
Learning from Renowned Co-Stars and Director Neeraj Pandey
Jain spoke fondly of his experience working with the star-studded cast of Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, which included highly acclaimed actors. He spoke about the importance of teamwork and shared how he learned a lot from his co-stars. “I have immense respect for Neeraj (Pandey, Director) Sir. He worked really hard with us before we got on set and opened up our vision as actors,” he said. Jain also appreciated how the senior actors on set strived to elevate each other’s performances, describing them as “actors who always try to enhance their co-actors’ performances.”
Jain further elaborated on the collaborative atmosphere on set, mentioning that there was always a lot of discussion and detailed preparation before each scene. “It was a lot of chit-chat before the scene, with discussions about the finer details,” he explained. He added that the humor and camaraderie on set made the experience enjoyable.
Preparing for His Role: A Blend of Technique and Inspiration
Jain, who plays a supportive best friend to Avinash Tiwary’s character in Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, spoke about his preparation for the role. Drawing inspiration from various acting techniques, such as the Meisner Technique and Stanislavski Method, Jain emphasized the importance of thorough character exploration. He also shared how childhood stories, particularly those from the Panchatantra, helped him shape his understanding of friendship and loyalty to the character. “I always get inspired a lot from Panchatantra Ki Kahaniyan. These stories are full of meaningful lessons, especially about friendship,” he said.
Positive Feedback from Co-Stars
The actor also spoke about receiving praise from his contemporaries, including Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu, both of whom have complimented his work in the past. Jain shared that these interactions have been incredibly inspiring for him. “Whenever we meet socially, Bhumi Pednekar always appreciates my work. Taapsee Pannu has also been a co-actor, and I get a lot of compliments when I meet her,” he added.
Reflecting on Past Performances
When asked about his favorite performance, Jain responded thoughtfully, comparing his work to a parent’s love for all their children. “You cannot make a parent choose a favorite baby. Every character has its own DNA and requires a lot of effort,” he said. Jain expressed equal pride in all of his roles, highlighting that each performance demands dedication and hard work.

Jain, who has had the opportunity to work with celebrated directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and David Dhawan, shared what he’s learned from their mastery. “The love for storytelling is immense in them. They breathe, eat, and sleep cinema. Their dedication to the craft is what has brought them to the level they are at today,” he remarked. Jain noted that his experiences with these directors have taught him the importance of keeping storytelling at the heart of everything.
Aspiring for a Dream Role
Looking ahead, Jain revealed that he harbors a strong desire to portray Lieutenant Colonel Avatar Singh Cheema, the first Indian to climb Mount Everest, in a biopic. He explained that he finds such stories from modern Indian history compelling and believes they could be impactful for both Indian and global audiences. “I would love to play Lieutenant Colonel Avatar Singh Cheema in his biopic. These untold stories need to be showcased at the right level,” he added.
Upcoming Projects: A Three-Film Deal
Jain wrapped up the conversation by sharing exciting news about his future in the film industry. He is currently in talks for a three-film deal with one of the biggest production houses in India. “I’ve been auditioned by a major production house for a three-film deal. We’re still working on it, but once everything is signed, I’ll be able to share more details,” he revealed.
