Best known for Arjun Reddy, Shalini Pandey recently featured in the controversial YRF film Maharaj marking the debut of Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan. The actress, who played one of the leading ladies in the entertainer, opened up about her lack of presence social media compared to her peers and reasoned that this is a conscious decision she has made. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, as Shalini traced her career journey, wherein she revealed that although she would like to retain her profile on the platform since it is also a source of income, she asserted that she wouldn’t want to use it beyond a point.

In an exclusive interview, as Shalini Pandey discussed her tryst with social media platforms like Instagram, she told Bollywood Hungama, “So many people ask me that (and some say) I seem so arrogant. But (let me tell you) genuinely, there was this time where (I am also saying this) as a woman and from my personal (experience) that when you’re trying to like, prove yourself in the industry, and when you see the Instagram world, you unconsciously, subconsciously start comparing yourself with people. I am not somebody, I like to believe, who’s extremely insecure.
She further thanked her theatre experience for this and added, “I don’t see the monitor because I think I’ve gotten that theater training where, you don’t get to see your work. You just like do it, right? So, I still am not in that habit of seeing the monitor, getting too conscious of myself.”

“Instagram started disturbing me a little where it became a habit where I would go and like, look at other profiles and look at people, whatever is coming on my feed. And random things would come on your feed, and you can’t control that. So, I was like, I’m going to control it,” she shared.
At the same time, she also confessed that this is a source of income. “Instagram is also something that I earn money from. It is a profile for me. People come to see my, some of the people who follow me for my work are on Instagram. So, I feel that is there. But if I can control it my way, in whatever way I can, I tried doing that”, she concluded.
