Prachi Desai recently made his debut in the Telugu entertainment industry with Amazon Prime Video’s web show, Dhootha. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Prachi shared her thoughts on the show and various aspects of her journey so far. Interestingly, she called her Silence: Can You Hear It co-star Manoj Bajpayee “a living legend,” and expressed the desire to work with two of the finest filmmakers from the Hindi film industry.

When asked to share her work experience with Manoj Bajpayee, Desai asserted, “With Manoj sir, it’s never-ending learning because being somebody with that kind of experience in his life, and one of the most the finest and refined actors of this new age, who is going to be remembered forever. He’s like a living legend. Watching him work at this stage, after all of the success and acclaim, it’s amazing to see that he has this spirit of not giving up.”
She further added, “He’s focused, he is dedicated. He’ll make sure that everyone feels like it is a collaborative effort. When you see a man like that, working so hard you realise why you’re here and how you may also want to approach your work and life, through those kinds of standards and ethics.”
As the conversation progressed further, the 35-year-old actress also spoke about Naga Chaitanya and said, “I honestly didn’t know what to expect, because we’ve never interacted in the past. I was very nervous about Telugu because I’m not familiar with it at all. But what an amazing person on set, he made me feel incredibly comfortable. He would give me his cues in English so that I would know exactly everything that he was saying in his lines.”
She continued by saying, “I felt so much at ease when somebody has had an experience, and that’s why they’re not going to look at you differently for that. That is so important. How someone makes you feel is very important. And for that, I would give him more than full marks.”
To conclude the chat, we asked Prachi if she has a list of filmmakers she would love to work with. In an immediate response, she said, “I’ve always been a Zoya Akhtar fan and I would love to work with her someday. I was a huge fan of, I still am, a huge fan of Farhan Akhtar and I already got to do Rock On with him. So I’d say now, I would love to work with Zoya as well. I would also like to work with Aanand L Rai. I just love the flavour of his films.”
Prachi will be next seen in Silence 2, where she will be collaborating with Manoj Bajpayee again.
