Ankita Lokhande, who portrays Yamunabai in the biopic Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, recently shared her thoughts on the film ahead of its digital premiere on ZEE5.

Biopic Challenges and Rewards
The former Bigg Boss contestant acknowledges the limitations of a biopic format when it comes to improvisation. “As an artiste, you do feel the need to improvise,” she admits, “but biopics are a tricky space because even if one percent you add of yourself in it, it might change the whole feel.” However, she expresses satisfaction with the final product: “I’m satisfied with how everything has come together.”
Learning from Yamunabai
The film’s portrayal of Savarkar’s wife left a lasting impression on Lokhande. “I learned the importance of resilience and dedication,” she says. “Yamunabai’s grit is something I want to imbibe.”
Promoting the OTT Release
Encouraging viewers to watch the film on ZEE5, Lokhande highlights its strengths. “The film showcases an authentic portrayal of the revolutionary,” she explains. She also praises her co-star Randeep Hooda’s performance: “You will see Randeep Hooda in a whole new light. He is just brilliant.”
