In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama at the IAA Leadership Awards, Ananya Panday shared insights into her approach to brand endorsements and briefly discussed her upcoming OTT debut show, Call Me Bae. The show is set to start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from September 6.

Ananya Panday Speaks About Her OTT Debut Call Me Bae
When asked about her upcoming show Call Me Bae, Ananya described it as a nostalgic mix of genres. “It’s actually kind of a mix of a lot of things that we’ve seen growing up. There’ll be a hint of nostalgia because it brings back the chick flick genre that I loved watching. But it’s not just for young girls; it’s for everyone. There’s drama, romance, comedy—it’s a lot of fun,” she said.
Ananya also reflected on her character, Bae, and how the role positively influenced her. “Initially, people might think Bae is a lot like me, but it’s a hyper-reality version. You have to take it with a pinch of salt, and then you’ll have a lot of fun. Playing Bae was uplifting because she was so upbeat and happy. No matter what was happening in real life, I couldn’t not be happy when I was playing her,” she shared.
Speaking of the show, the Hindi-language drama series is written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair. It is said to be a story of a young woman who is downsized from heiress to hustler after a scandal. The eight-part Prime Video original series is a Dharmatic Entertainment production and is directed by Collin D’Cunha.
