Marvel Comics came out swinging, as they always do at SDCC, with their Marvel Next Big Thing panel. Always good for big surprises and reveals, the panel was chock full of variant cover art, comic trailers, and so much more! Wil Moss, Gerry Duggan, CB Cebulski, Katharyn Blair, and Tom Brevoort were in attendance, and Ryan Penagos hosted.
To kick things off, a Venom War trailer was revealed. It has a WWE vibe, for sure.

The panel then discusses Unlimited comics and details how the issues occur in real time. They also revealed Ultimate Universe: One Year In #1, which will be released in December, and it lays out the plan for the next year of Ultimates comics.
New Marvel Unlimited comics like Dogpool and Beastly Buddies were also revealed. “These new vertical comics have forced us to think of different ways to tell the story. The canvas and the copy is different,” Brevoort said.
They also discussed the new TVA series, which was announced in a previous panel. Revealed as Gambit, who shows off his muscles, or as Duggan put it, “If you got the guns, you got the flash em.”
Also announced is West Coast Avengers, written by Duggan. “This book is about redemption,” Duggan said, adding, “Fire Star is going to have a rough time. Sorry, Fire Star”
One of the biggest teases was what comes after Blood Hunt in the big-event area, and it appears to be…Doom! Check out the teaser below. “This is the next big thing. Whatever you’re thinking, think bigger,” Brevoort said.
