Debate with ECB’s Christine Lagarde
Following the opening of the session, MEPs, European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde and Commissioner Albuquerque will discuss the state of Europe’s economy, how to improve competitiveness and the role monetary policy can play in achieving this. A draft report assessing the ECB’s work in 2024 will be voted on by MEPs in plenary on Tuesday.

Gang violence in Sweden
From around 18.30, plenary will debate escalating organised crime in Sweden with Commissioner Albuquerque. The country is currently battling a wave of gang violence often involving teenagers who are recruited by criminal networks to carry out violent acts, including vandalism, bombings and contract murder.

Persons missing in wars and conflicts. In an evening debate, MEPs are expected to urge the EU to contribute to resolving the humanitarian crisis of people missing in wars and conflicts.
Committees: European economic recovery
In the evening, Commission Executive Vice-President Fitto and Commissioner Dombrovskis will brief MEPs at a meeting of the Budgets and Economic and Monetary Affairs committees on the implementation of economic recovery measures.
