MEPs assess outcome of the UN Climate Change Conference COP 28
From 9.00, MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Dalli and Spanish State Secretary for European Affairs Navarro the results of the COP 28 in Dubai, which concluded on Wednesday. An official EP delegation participated in the COP 28 between 8 and 12 December.

Ensuring that Ukraine can export agricultural goods
In a debate at around 10.00, MEPs will debate with Commissioner Dalli and Spanish State Secretary for European Affairs Navarro how to ensure that the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes, which keep trade routes open so goods can flow in both directions, function properly.

In brief
Frontex. In a draft resolution put to a vote at noon, MEPs are set to say that the agency can play a key support role in managing the EU’s external borders, but it must be transparent and respect fundamental rights.
EU-wide recognition of parenthood. In a vote at noon, MEPs are expected to endorse rules to ensure that children can enjoy the same rights under national law in another member state, particularly for custody, maintenance or succession.

Between 12.00 and 13.00, plenary will vote, among others, on:
- the unknown status of Mikalai Statkevich and the recent attacks on the families of Belarusian politicians and activists;
- the Maasai communities in Tanzania;
- the abduction of Tibetan children and forced assimilation practices through Chinese boarding schools in Tibet;
- the attempt of a coup d’Etat in Guatemala;
- a resolution on the situation of young researchers; and
- on increasing innovation, industrial and technological competitiveness.
