Bengaluru-based start-up Emobi Manufacturing Private Limited has just launched its latest electric two-wheeler, the AKX Commuter, aiming to change the way we travel in cities.

This Made-in-India bike is designed for performance, efficiency, and versatility, making it a game-changer for urban transportation.

Emobi has also rolled out the AKX LS, a low-speed version tailored for micro-mobility. This model specifically targets the 30 percent of riders engaged in last-mile delivery who may lack a valid driving license for high-speed vehicles. With a robust Li-ion battery designed for top-notch safety and smart BMS compliance, the AKX LS comes with a 1.5 kWh LFP battery option and a more powerful 2.3 kWh NMC variant.

Both can be fully charged in just 30 minutes using proprietary fast chargers. The LFP version offers a range of up to 75 km, while the NMC variant can go up to 120 km on a single charge. The AKX is equipped with a specially designed motor that ensures high efficiency during low-speed operations, making it perfect for quick deliveries.

One of the standout features of the AKX Commuter is its rapid battery charging system, allowing users to fully charge the vehicle in only 30 minutes. This quick turnaround enhances operational efficiency, enabling riders to recharge and get back to work in no time.

Emobi has partnered with Livaah Innovations to ensure the AKX’s battery pack is compatible with Livaah’s solar hybrid inverters. This means customers can use the AKX battery for quick charging and as a backup power source during outages. Livaah is promoting this dual-use capability in the B2C market, while Emobi focuses primarily on B2B last-mile delivery services.

Bharath Rao, Founder and CEO of Emobi, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “Features like geo-fencing, live tracking, and vehicle immobilisation will assist fleet managers in securing and managing their vehicles effectively.”

The Indian B2B electric vehicle market is set for rapid growth, but many offerings focus more on cost than performance. This makes it challenging for companies in the bike taxi sector to persuade riders to switch from traditional internal combustion engines to electric vehicles.
