Easy baked oats recipe ‘for anyone that hates waiting for them to cook’

We all know the saying, ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’.

Whether you abide by that or not it is certainly true that breakfast should be both nutritious and tasty in order to get our day off to the best start.

In recent years baked oats have become a popular staple in the morning, for their versatility.

They are also filling and healthy, depending on what you pair them with.

However, they are not always the quickest meal to prepare – with many people choosing to make portions in advance.

This can seem like a bit of an unnecessary faff. But luckily there is an alternative.

Recipe creator Emma Petersen, known online as The Fit Londoner, shared her method for making baked oats in just one minute.

Speaking to her 61,000 followers on TikTok she said: “What if I told you you could make baked oats in just 60 seconds?

“This is my daily breakfast. About a year ago I was making my usual baked oats recipe until my lazy curiosity wondered what would happen if I microwaved the mixture instead of putting it into the oven?

“The answer was this warm, high protein cakey dream.”

In the video Emma adds chocolate chips to the cooked mixture and then transfers it to a bowl of yoghurt, raspberries and apples.

“I genuinely eat this most days served up in a bowl like this and it still never gets old,” she said. “You just can’t beat it.”

In the caption she provided the ingredients and method needed.

“For anyone that loves baked oats but hates waiting for them to cook,” she said.

Recipe

  • 30g oat flour
  • 15g vegan protein powder
  • 3g baking powder
  • 120ml water.

Method
