Now one English village is regularly featured as one of the best in the world. It has a rich history and is picturesque thanks to its stone houses and nature walks.

The village itself borders Gloucestershire, Berkshire, Dorset to the south and Somerset so you can expect to be surrounded by plenty of beauty.

So, where is it we hear you ask? Castle Combe in Wiltshire is not only stunning but has also been featured in several films, including The Wolf Man, Stardust and War Horse. Let’s not forget that it was used in the original Dr Doolittle film.

St Andrew’s church is one of the top things to do with the site dating back to the 13th century.

It has a faceless clock which is one of the oldest working clocks in the country. The church has a Google rating of 4.6 online with one traveller writing: “Very picturesque church from the outside. We had a wander around inside.

“It’s free to get in but with a suggested £1 donation which is reasonable. There’s a faceless clock inside which I’ve never seen before!”

Another said: “Was not able to go inside but nice to walk around outside. A typical English village church in a very nice setting.”
