An accidental chemical spill led to two Disneyland employees being treated for injuries.
On Dec. 28, shortly after 2 a.m., Anaheim Fire and Rescue responded to a call about a possible chemical spill, a spokesperson for Anaheim Fire and Rescue told SFGATE in a statement.
Two Disneyland employees had trouble breathing after the spill caused a “vapor cloud of chlorine and another cleaning agent,” according to the Orange County Register.
“A small amount of cleaning products came into contact with one another early this morning backstage,” Disneyland officials told SFGATE in a statement emailed Thursday. “Out of an abundance of caution, the area was examined by appropriate response teams to ensure the safety of cast members,” Disneyland officials continued, adding, “Guests were not impacted.”
One employee was hospitalized and quickly released, Disneyland officials said. Another was treated for injuries on site, according to the Orange County Register.
