Disney Jr’s Ariel is debuting this summer Disney Junior and Disney Channel!
The upcoming preschool, animated musical series is inspired by The Little Mermaid, and will also produce an offshoot series of shorts, Disney Jr’s Ariel: Mermaid Tales.
The series stars the voices of previously announced Mykal-Michelle Harris as Ariel, Taye Diggs as King Triton, Amber Riley as Ursula, Elizabeth Phoenix Caro and Cruz Flateau as Ariel’s friends Lucia and Fernie, and Gracen Newton as Flounder.
Along with the premiere date, new recurring cast members were also just announced!

The series is set in the Caribbean-inspired fairytale kingdom of Atlantica, and follows young mermaid princess Ariel as she embarks on underwater adventures with her family and friends, including King Triton, Ursula, Flounder and mer-friends Fernie and Lucia.
Disney Jr’s Ariel will premiere on Thursday, June 27th at 9am ET/PT on Disney Junior and on Disney Channel later that day. A batch of episodes will then debut on Disney+ on Friday, June 28th.
New to the cast as recurring roles include Yvette Nicole Brown as Aquatica, Melissa Villaseñor as Navi and Ron Funches as Delfino, as well as Kevin Michael Richardson as Sebastian, Parvesh Cheena as Ravi, Danni Washington as Tantie Chantale, Alanna Ubach as Cristina Cuttles, and Dana Heath and Jessica Mikayla as Ariel’s twin sisters Ayanna and Alanna, respectively.
Disney Jr’s Ariel: Mermaid Tales will debut across Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney Junior starting Wednesday, June 5th. The two-minute long shorts will highlight a different aspect of Ariel’s life in Atlantica.
