Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has turned a year older today, celebrating his 42nd birthday with his wife, Alia Bhatt, and their little daughter, Raha. On his special day, fans were treated to an exciting surprise. According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor is in talks to star in one of Bollywood’s biggest franchises, Dhoom 4. A report by Pinkvilla claims that Ranbir will lead the film, and Dhoom 4 will mark his 25th film as an actor.
The project, which is set to be a reboot, is currently being developed by YRF’s Aditya Chopra. According to a new report, a source has revealed that Ranbir is in discussions to headline Dhoom 4. It reads, “The discussions with Ranbir have been going on for the longest time. He had always shown interest in being a part of Dhoom 4 after hearing the basic idea, and he is now finally confirmed to lead the franchise. Adi Chopra feels that RK is the ideal choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy.”
The report also revealed that none of the actors from the previous instalments will be part of Dhoom 4. “Two big heroes from the younger generation will come on board to play the duo of cop buddies in Dhoom 4. Now that the core storyboard is locked, the team will proceed to the casting stage. Dhoom 4 will not only be the biggest Dhoom film but also a tentpole feature of global standards from Indian cinema,” the report added.
The last instalment of the Dhoom franchise featured Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan, and Uday Chopra. The film hit the big screens in 2013 and turned out to be a massive hit.
As for Ranbir’s work front, the actor was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, which performed exceptionally well at the box office. He is now preparing for his next release, Ramayana, helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, which will also feature Sai Pallavi. Additionally, Ranbir will be part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
