New Delhi: The University of Delhi (UoD) on Monday formed a committee to investigate the vandalism incident at the Delhi University Students’ Union office on the night of July 13th-14th. On Sunday, Tushar Dedha, a member of ABVP and the President of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), made serious allegations against members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), accusing them of engaging in vandalism and misconduct within the university premises.
The newly formed committee is headed by Prof. Rajni Abi, Proctor as chairperson, Prof. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi, Deam Students’ welfare, Prof. Surender Kumar, Staff Advisor, DUSU and Prof. Geeta Sahare, Joint Proctor as members respectively. The Committee is likely to submit the report at the earliest preferably within 7 days.
“NSUI has kept goons in Delhi University. Vice President of NSUI, sat in his office last night and consumed liquor. After that 30-40 people first broke the glass of the room of the Joint Secretary of DUSU, then broke the glass of the room of the Secretary of DUSU and after that, they entered my office and broke the Ram temple in my office,” DUSU President Tushar Dedha claimed, ANI reported.
Meanwhile, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) has strongly condemned the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and alleged that the members of ABVP were trying to divert attention from the critical issue of fake degrees allegedly held by their office bearers at the University of Delhi.

In a detailed statement, titled “Our Response to ABVP’s Diversion Tactics,” NSUI President wrote, “ABVP is known for spreading violence and threatening teachers and students on campuses across India. At the University of Delhi, the ABVP has thrashed and threatened professors in multiple incidents. They never address issues like the NEET, NET, or NTA scams; instead, they act as a safety valve for the BJP Government.”
Urging the authorities, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) President, Varun Choudhary wrote, “We urge authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the fake degree scandal at DUSU, ensuring those responsible are held accountable. Our students deserve representatives wil integrity, not those with fake degrees and marksheets.”
