The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are engaged in a fierce contest in the Delhi Assembly elections. Of the 70 Assembly seats in the national capital, 15 are receiving particular attention from both parties.

These 15 seats represent constituencies where either party secured victory by a substantial margin or emerged victorious by a narrow margin. The performance of both parties in these 15 key seats will be decisive in determining which party will govern Delhi.

Crucially, five of these seats saw exceedingly narrow victories in the previous Assembly elections, while another five witnessed landslide victories for AAP. These ten seats, therefore, hold the key to determining the balance of power in Delhi.

In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP secured victory in 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP won eight seats. Numerous constituencies witnessed a close contest between candidates from the BJP and the AAP.

The BJP expressed satisfaction with doubling its seat count compared to the 2015 elections. Consequently, both the BJP and AAP are prioritising these closely contested seats.
