‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ box office collection Day 2: Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer almost hits Rs 50 crore mark in India |

Marvel Studios‘ highly anticipated film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, was off to a flying start at the Indian box office on Friday and going by the early estimates, the film has managed to keep up its pace on Saturday.
All the hype has seemingly paid off for the film that had a record advance booking for Day 1. After scoring a box office collection of Rs 21 crore, the film has reportedly seen some growth on day 2.Early estimates on Sacnilk.com, indicate that the movie has earned approximately Rs 22.50 crore, thanks to its wide release in India, with Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubbed versions releasing alongside the English version.
Despite its R-rating, the movie has managed to earn a total nett collection of Rs 43.50 crore. The film seemingly minutely fell short of hitting the Rs 50 crore mark on Day 2, by collecting a gross total of Rs 44.99 crore. The final numbers are still awaited.Meanwhile, ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ had seen the maximum occupancy for its English shows with an overall 41.94% occupancy on Saturday.
The box office report further states that the film has scored a collection surpassing Rs 500 crore at the overseas box office, making it one of the highest earning films of the year.
Meanwhile, at the North American box office, the R-rated film pushed its haul to the coveted $100 million milestone after scoring a $96 million on just its opening day. This is by far the sixth-highest collection recorded for an R-rated release.

The third Deadpool movie, directed by Shawn Levy, generated anticipation among Indian audiences that was comparable to some of Marvel’s biggest past releases. The film is reportedly released on over 3,000 screens across the country, scoring one of the biggest pre-sales of the year in India and for a Marvel title in recent times.
It must be noted that the film has managed to rake in the big bucks despite its ‘Adult’ rating. Other films that comfortably sailed past this mark, were in the PG-13 category. Initial reports set the film up to earn an estimated Rs 25+ crore gross (21+ crore net) on its opening day across all versions, a target the film managed to hit.
It remains to be seen if the film can continue to keep up the pace like last year’s Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal‘.
