The final season of Stranger Things is one of the most eagerly awaited shows on Netflix. David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, recently shared insights into the emotional impact of the series finale during an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

Emotions Run High During the Finale Table Read
In the podcast’s 10th-anniversary celebration, David Harbour revealed that the cast had a powerful emotional reaction during the table read of the last 20 minutes of Stranger Things. He described the experience, stating, “Look, I’m very close to the show, so I have very strong opinions and they may not match yours if you’re a fan of the show. I can be very critical of this show. They land the plane, and it is the best episode they’ve ever done.”
As the reading progressed, Harbour noted that “about halfway through, people started crying. Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favourite!”
A Beautiful Reflection on Growing Up
Harbour spoke about the significance of the finale, particularly for the young cast members who have grown up during the filming of the series. He explained, “I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood. It’s 10 years later, and we examine that idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful. I was totally prepared… It’s such a great episode, and it’s such a great season. You guys will love it.”
The Star-Studded Cast of Stranger Things
Stranger Things features an ensemble cast that includes Millie Bobby Brown, Matthew Modine, Caleb McLaughlin, Brett Gelman, Finn Wolfhard, Eduardo Franco, Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, Joseph Quinn, Gaten Matarazzo, Charlie Heaton, and Priah Ferguson, among others. The strong chemistry among the cast members has been a hallmark of the series, adding depth to its storytelling.
While excitement continues to build for Stranger Things 5, Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the final season. Fans can currently enjoy the first four seasons, which are available for streaming on Netflix.
