Bengaluru: On June 11th, 2024, popular Kannada actor, Darshan Thoogudeepa, was detained by the Karnataka Police, related to the probe into the 33-year-old Renukaswamy murder case. After a week slipped by actor’s wife, Vijayalakshmi Darshan, showed up at the Annapoorneshwari police station in Bengaluru to see her husband. Scroll down to find more details.

Police Questions Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi

Darshan Thoogudeepa made headlines after Karnataka police linked him to the alleged murder of Renukaswamy. Following a police notice, Vijayalakshmi plans to provide her statement today in the ongoing high-profile case. The police found Darshan’s shoes in Vijaylakshmi’s house. She’s been requested to shed light on the situation surrounding her husband’s visit and has been invited to attend the scheduled meeting.

The Karnataka police found Darshan’s shoes at Vijayalakshmi’s place and needed to dig deeper for clarity. So, they politely requested Vijayalakshmi to assist them with their investigation. With a cooperative spirit, Vijayalakshmi made her way to the Annapurneswari Nagar police station on Wednesday to provide the necessary answers.

Upon arriving at the police precinct, Vijayalakshmi was subject to further questioning. They found a pair of shoes at her home — the same pair Darshan reportedly wore on the night of Renukaswamy’s murder. These were promptly seized by law enforcement. Vijayalakshmi’s statement was recorded to shed light on why she had these shoes.

About Renukaswamy Murder Case

The Karnataka police detained Darshan on June 11th, as suspicions arose regarding the kidnapping and murder of Renukaswamy – the man who allegedly sent unseemly messages to his lady love, Pavithra Gowda.

Darshan, who first tasted the bitter reality of arrest in Mysuru, was soon presented before the court and was detained by the police for six long days. On June 16th, marking the end of the initial custody term, Darshan’s custody was extended for five more days. Darshan and 16 of his associates have had to endure a grueling spell in police custody that spanned over nine days.

Darshan and his associates have a court date lined up for tomorrow, and there’s a looming threat of possible arrest after Karnataka police found sufficient evidence against the actor. It seems from Vijayalakshmi’s latest dealings with the authorities that she might have come to support her spouse in this pivotal stage of the investigation.
