Celebrated for his vibrant and unconventional take on wine tasting, Luke Flunder has attracted over 200,000 followers on TikTok. As part of his ongoing quest to unearth top-quality wines under £10, one Argentinian white has caught his eye.
Drawing from his extensive experience as a former manager at Majestic Wines, Flunder enthusiastically reviews the Santa Rose Organic Torrontes, which is £6.99 from his local Waitrose. His excitement shines through as he dives into the wine’s unique profile, describing the taste in a way that will have wine lovers reaching for a glass.
Speaking about the uniquely Argentinian Torrontes grape he said: “I’m excited to try this. The Torrontes grape is a little bit different to other white wines as it should smell sweet but taste dry.”
The vino connoisseur gets ready to try a cheeky slurp and said: “I’m back in the hot seat, back in Argentina, but this time not with a Malbec.” He added: “What you get with Torrontes is floral flavours and also a bit of peach and apricot. I have high hopes for this.”
After a professional-looking swill of the glass and a decent slurp, the wine lover describes the flavour, saying “It reminds me of a lemon freeze pop but not in a bad way, It’s got that florality coming through (if that’s a word) and it’s got a little bit of spice lingering on the finish.”
Looking a little delighted, Luke finishes his review by simply saying “it’s a cracking white for £6.99 and I highly recommend it.”
