A MAN and woman found dead in a Greenock home have been named locally.
Alison and Neil McLaughlin were discovered in the house on Banff Road yesterday afternoon.
Their bodies were found after police received concerns about people in the house.
The scene was sealed off by emergency crews after the tragic discovery.
Images from the scene show police vehicles and an ambulance on the street as police tape cordoned off the road.
A full investigation has been launched into the double tragedy as cops work to determine how the couple died.
Officers say their deaths are currently being treated as unexplained.
Investigations into the double death is continued today, with a police presence still on the residential street.
Uniformed cops stood guard at the scene and detectives were also spotted arriving at the home.
Crime scene techs were also seen carrying equipment and transparent evidence bags into the house.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.05pm on Friday, 5 January 2024, police were called to a property in Banff Road, Greenock, following a report of concern for the people within.
“Officers attended and the bodies of a man and woman were discovered.
“The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
