Air fryers can look intimidating, especially if it doesn’t come with any simple recipes to start you off.
However, once you get the hang of it, you can whip up some delicious dinners, including sausages, chicken and salmon.
The appliance uses a lot less energy than a standard oven and the food cooks much quicker, providing families with a win-win situation.
This air fryer salmon recipe from BBC Good Food serves four people and is on the table in 15 minutes.
The recipe notes said: “Salmon fillets cook beautifully in an air fryer and make a delicious meal when coated in a herb seasoning and served with greens and grains.”
Ingredients
One teaspoon of salt
One teaspoon of pepper
One teaspoon of mixed herbs
One teaspoon of garlic granules
Four salmon fillets, skin on or removed
Half a tablespoon of olive oil
Cooked seasonal greens and grains such as quinoa or brown rice, to serve
Method:
Combine the salt, pepper, mixed herbs and garlic granules in a bowl, then scatter onto a plate.
Rub each salmon fillet with a little olive oil and roll in the seasoning to coat.
Put in the air fryer basket in one layer and cook for eight to 10 minutes, until cooked through.
If you have larger salmon fillets they will need to be cooked for longer, so keep checking every one to two minutes until ready.
Serve with greens and quinoa or rice if you fancy or opt for potatoes.
If you fancy broccoli, opt for bite-sized florets and cook for eight to 10 minutes in an air fryer preheated to 190C.
Turn the broccoli halfway and drizzle with a little olive oil and salt if you fancy.
