Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 2-2 draw against Royal AM despite leading by two goals in the first 15 minutes.
Nasreddine Nabi’s men looked sharp throughout Saturday’s match but ultimately had to settle for a point at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Amakhosi came into the clash looking for their second successive win following their impressive 2-1 win over Richards Bay midweek. Nasreddine Nabi‘s side were eyeing third spot in the Betway Premiership which would have put them at least eight points behind log leaders Orlando Pirates.
Two quick goals from Ashley Du Preez and Wandile Duba put Kaizer Chiefs ahead with Royal AM seeking answers. Amakhosi continued to pile pressure but could not find the third goal which would have sealed the match.
Amakhosi’s next fixture is against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium next Sunday.
