West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while speaking at a press conference on January 11 pressed the Centre to change the name of the state ‘West Bengal’ to ‘Bangla’.She said, “Bombay has changed to Mumbai, Orissa has changed to Odisha, so why isn’t it happening with us? What have we done wrong? If West Bengal is changed to ‘Bangla’ then our children will get priority when they go outside the state. If we go to any meeting we are given the last priority. Our importance is reduced.”
