Citadel, which premiered in 2023, gained the status of one of the most-watched new original series on Prime Video. The show left audiences impressed as it is one-of-a-kind Original Series which has a subsequent action-espionage spin off versions across the globe, further taking forward the story of spy agency Citadel and its powerful enemy syndicate, Manticore. As the makers have kicked started work on Season Two of Citadel, they have unveiled some more interesting details including a few names which have been added to the cast of this Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden starrer.
Citadel Season 2: Merle Dandridge, Rahul Kohli, and Michael Trucco join Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in this new espionage adventure
Merle Dandridge, Rahul Kohli, and Michael Trucco will be joining in the new season as recurring cast members. Merle is an award-winning actress and singer who reprised the role of Marlene, leader of the fireflies, in HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us. She is also best known for her role as Chief Ross in ABC’s Station 19, Grace Greenleaf in Oprah Winfrey’s hit series Greenleaf, and appeared as Zarina Killebrew in Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told. As for Rahul Kohli, best known for his role in the series iZombie, he starred in multiple limited series recently created by Mike Flanagan for Netflix: The Haunting Of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and Midnight Club. He most recently starred in a 4th series for Flanagan and Netflix, The Fall Of The House Of Usher too.
Whereas Michael will next be seen alongside Stanley Tucci in the Russo Brothers’ upcoming feature film The Electric State for Netflix. Michael has also been a co-star to Rahul in the past in Mike Flanagan’s The Fall of The House of Usher, along with his critically acclaimed series Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, and the Blumhouse feature film Hush.
Angela Russo-Otstot, executive producer and AGBO’s Chief Creative Officer, said, “The second season will build on the intense action and complex characters introduced in the first season, promising even more thrilling twists and intrigue. Also, the recently announced Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny, from Italy and India respectively, further expand the storytelling and scope born from the world of Citadel.”
Season Two of Citadel will begin production this year, with Joe Russo serving as director and Richard Madden and Priyanka-Chopra Jonas returning to star, alongside Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville. Jack Reynor also joins for season two. From Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, Citadel is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO, with David Weil serving as showrunner and executive producer.
