Veteran Bollywood actor Chunky Panday recently revealed an amusing and bizarre anecdote from the early days of his career. Speaking on The Great Indian Kapil Show, the actor recalled being invited to an event, only to later realise that it was a funeral.

Invited to an Event, Lands at a Funeral
Chunky shared that in the initial phase of his career, he would attend various events to earn extra income. “I used to have a bag ready; whoever would call me, I would take my bag and run—be it a wedding, birthday, or even a Mundan ceremony,” he recounted.
The actor revealed how one morning, an organiser called him about a quick event on his way to Film City. “He told me to wear white clothes and come. I didn’t think much and landed at the venue.” However, upon arrival, Chunky noticed people whispering as he entered, and he soon realised he was at a funeral.
“If You Cried, They Would Give More Money”
The humorous twist came when Chunky saw the organiser at the venue. “I saw the dead body and realised it was a funeral. I thought the organiser might have passed away by the time I reached. But he came up to me and said, ‘Sir, don’t worry, your packet is with me. The family said that if you cried, they would give more money.’ This really happened,” the actor shared, leaving the audience in splits.
Chunky Panday’s Upcoming Projects
Chunky Panday, who was last seen in the Netflix film Vijay 69 alongside Anupam Kher, is set to appear in Housefull 5. The fifth installment of the comedy franchise will feature Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others, with a 2025 release date.
