Marvel Comics has released a new version of House of X and Powers of X, re-presenting the series in chronological order. Available via Marvel Unlimited, the new presentation features a letter by X-Men Senior Editor Jordan D. White explaining why they went this route and what it means.
Fans who are nervous Marvel is tinkering with their favorite Krakoa Era story should not be worried there’s been meddling. White explains it was approved to be released by Jonathan Hickman himself. As White explains, which you can read in full below, the idea was inspired by the deleted features of the film Memento. That film’s original cut featured a story told backward, which gave White the idea to offer House of X and Powers of X in a similarly reorganized format.
