Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and his girlfriend, Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson, recently made a spiritual stop in India as they attended the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. A viral video circulating on social media shows the couple immersing themselves in the sacred waters, participating in the traditional dip.
In the video, Chris Martin can be seen wearing black shorts, while Dakota Johnson opted for a kurta and trousers. At one moment, Chris was seen smiling at a devotee with folded hands and was later captured praying with closed eyes.
The duo was spotted in Prayagraj on January 27, dressed in saffron-colored attires as they made their way through the pilgrimage site. Their visit to India began on January 16, 2025, when they arrived for Coldplay’s Indian leg of their musical tour. The band performed in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, with their last show taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Republic Day. To commemorate the occasion, Chris Martin delivered a moving tribute to India with a soulful rendition of the patriotic anthems “Vande Mataram” and “Maa Tujhhe Salaam.” Concluding the concert, he expressed his admiration for the country by saying, “Salute to Mother India,” while extending Republic Day wishes to the audience.
A few days before their Maha Kumbh visit, Chris and Dakota were spotted seeking divine blessings at Mumbai’s famous Siddhivinayak Temple. They were accompanied by Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre and Gayatri Joshi. Dakota Johnson, known for her role in Fifty Shades of Grey, was seen covering her head with a saffron veil as she participated in the rituals.
The couple further extended their spiritual journey by visiting the historic Shri Babulnath Temple in Mumbai. While Dakota looked elegant in a printed cotton suit with a dupatta draped over her head, Chris chose a pastel blue kurta and accessorized with a sacred Rudraksha mala. A unique moment was captured when Dakota whispered into Nandi’s ear, a practice believed to make wishes come true.
