Veteran actors Vyjayanthimala Bala and Konidela Chiranjeevi recently were honoured with Padma Vibhushan which is the second-highest civilian award for exceptional work. On Thursday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to Vyjayanthimala who is 90 and Chiranjeevi who is 68 at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Actress and amazing dancer Vyjayantimala managed to set the screens on fire with her performances from the 1950s and 1960s. She has been part of films including Devdas, Naya Daur, Aasha, Sadhna, Gunga Jumna, Sangam and Jewel Thief to her credit. She even acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali films.

Vyjayantimala was awarded for Ganwaar film which was released in 1970. While, Chiranjeevi the superstar of South films has worked in Hindi, Tamil and Kannada films. He gave some blockbuster movies including Rudra Veena, Indra, Tagore, Swayam Krushi, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Stalin and Gang Leader.
