THIS is the chilling moment a dad ran through a darkened street before he was found dead in a river.
Kyle Vernon was captured in doorbell footage just before 9pm on a residential street in Bridgend, Wales.
Tragically, the 37-year-old was discovered the following day in the Ogwr Fawr River.
South Wales Police have only just released the haunting footage as they try to piece together Kyle’s final moments.
The video was taken on December 15 last year – with Christmas lights seen in the background on some of the houses.
Kyle could be seen running through the street wearing a burgundy hooded top and dark grey tracksuit bottoms.
He was found the following morning just over a mile away from where he was last seen.
Police said at the time his death was not being treated as suspicious but no further information has been released.
The force said they are trying to “fill the gap” between Kyle’s final sighting and when the dad was found in the river, which is around a 30 minute walk.
Detective Inspector Steve Jones said: “We continue to work to understand the circumstances around Kyle’s death and have been speaking with people in the area and looking through local CCTV and doorcam footage.
“My team are trying to establish Kyle’s movements in the hours that led up to him being in the river and as part of our investigation we are asking anyone who may have captured Kyle on any CCTV, dashcam or ring doorbell footage to please get in touch.”
Following the tragedy, Kyle’s devastated loved ones said he was a “loving son, father, brother, partner, and grandson who was well-liked and a very caring person”.
They added: “Everyone who met him loved him.”
Police are asking for anyone in North Road or near Ogmore Vale Primary School, Saville Road or Penllwyngwent Industrial Estate anytime after 8pm on December 15 to get in touch.
