CHIDIMMA’S CAPE TOWN TRIP SPARKS CONTROVERSY
Rumours about the model’s recent visit spread quickly after an X user with the handle @PovertykillerB shared a video of her enjoying time with friends. The model was dining with her friends at Life Grand Café in Waterfront, Cape Town.
This has raised questions about how she permitted her return to the country after her South African identity was revoked and her travel documents were confiscated.
WHERE DID THE DRAMA BEGIN?
Chidimma’s drama started when she became a finalist in the Miss South Africa pageant.
It was revealed that her mother was Mozambican and her father was Nigerian. This triggered questions regarding her eligibility to compete, leading to the Department of Home Affairs also launching an investigation.
Home Affairs found Prima Facie evidence of fraud and identity theft, potentially committed by her mother when she was registering her.
The Department then revoked Chidimma’s documents until an investigation was concluded. The beauty queen also withdrew from Miss SA and subsequently won Miss Universe Nigeria.
