Chhaava advance booking: The Vicky Kaushal-Rashmika Mandanna starrer collects Rs 6.7 crore; surpasses Deva and Emergency |

Vicky Kaushal’s much-anticipated film Chhaava, featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, is gearing up for a grand release this Valentine’s Day, February 14. Produced by Maddock Films, the historical action drama is expected to make a strong start at the box office, as per early trends from Sacnilk.
As per reports, Chhaava has already sold 2,32,746 tickets for its opening day across 8,090 shows in India. The film is currently tracking an opening of Rs 6.74 crore domestically, reaching Rs 8.42 crore with block seats included. While its final day-one collection is yet to be seen, it may surpass Bad Newz’s Rs 8.3 crore opening.

This year’s major releases include Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, which opened at Rs 12.25 crore, Shahid Kapoor’s Deva with Rs 5.5 crore, and Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency at Rs 2.5 crore. With Chhaava tracking well, it could secure one of the biggest openings of 2025 so far.

Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, brings the story of Maratha king Sambhaji to life. Starring Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji and Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, the film also features Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Hambirao Mohite, and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai. Based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava, the historical action film is set against a grand backdrop, with music composed by AR Rahman and lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
Vicky Kaushal opened up about his intense physical transformation for Chhaava at a promotional event. He shared that his days were packed with 12-hour shoots, two hours of training before, and two hours of action rehearsals after, leaving little time for rest. He also praised Katrina Kaif for her support, saying, “She understands the industry and was incredibly kind and patient with me.”
