Renowned chef Robbie Bell has taken to TikTok to share a simple kitchen hack with his 537,000 followers.
Brit Robbie, who is now the owner and head Charcutier at Melbourne’s City Larder Charcuterie in Australia, detailed a way of overcoming the common culinary dilemma of tangled tin foil.
Crediting fellow chef Shaun Hurrell for coming up with the technique, Robbie began: “This is one of the best kitchen hacks I’ve ever been shown. If your tin foil ever gets knotted up, take a little bit off and rub it on the part where it overlapped or isn’t working properly.”
He continued: “It’ll all come away and then just unroll the tin foil as if it was brand new. You’re welcome.”
The video has already been viewed more than four million times, with many budding cooks grateful for the tip.
“You have no idea how useful this is to me,” declared one TikTok user. “Did not know I needed this until now. Great tip!” added another.
A third responded: “Wow I always get annoyed and chuck it, thank you.” And a fourth said: “So strange this is on my feed. Had this problem last night, got about 2 meteres left.”
Scores of others, meanwhile, begged Robbie to create a similar video explaining how to unravel cling film. Robbie, who moved Down Under with his wife Rebecca in 2008, has become a viral sensation on TikTok in the past few years with his videos amassing a staggering 9.3million ‘likes’ to date.
According to City Larder’s web site, he also is also “passionate about cooking, feeding and finding incredible ingredients, and is a cheeky, passionate, loveable character that advocates and showcases the incredible Australian Food Industry”.
Robbie also hosts Cooking the Books, a hospitality podcast taking listeners behind the scenes to hear the “tales and journeys of interesting people from Australia’s food industry”.
Robbie’s most viewed TikTok video, meanwhile, details how to make a “classic one handed Roché” ans has been seen by more than 11million people.
