We’re not ones to subscribe to any hard and fast rules about gender and color, but we’re also not ones to hold back on our happiness for folks who want to celebrate major life moments in harmless traditional ways. So when we saw that Cardi B had announced the birth of her new daughter with a bubblegum-pink manicure, we couldn’t help but let out a big “awwwwwww.”
Cardi announced her pregnancy only a little over a month ago, and she was clearly quite far along. Her third child—she already has daughter Kulture and son Wave—arrived on September 7, according to a new Instagram carousel showing the rapper and family welcoming the newborn. “The prettiest lil thing 🌸🌸 9/7/24 💖💖💖,” Cardi wrote in the caption.
In the photos, starting off with Cardi understandably grinning from ear to ear, we see that she’s wearing an equally pretty pink nail polish on her long nails. (Though we don’t know exactly which, we think Orly Bubble Gum Pop and Essie Muchi Muchi are fantastic matches.) At one point in a video clip, she makes an L symbol with her hand—perhaps a hint at the as-yet-unannounced name?
