Cape Town ready for visitors
Cape Town Tourism (CTT) is rolling out the red carpet to welcome travellers from across South Africa to soak up the Dezemba vibe in the Mother City.
Enver Duminy, CEO of CTT, sums it up perfectly.
“Dezemba in Cape Town isn’t just a season; it’s an attitude! We want every visitor to feel the rhythm of summer, the joy of reconnecting, and the pure magic of this city. Cape Town is the place to be, and we are ready – so say Aweh!” Duminy says.
Highlight events to get you into the spirit
The Mother City knows how to bring festive vibes; this December is no exception.
A season highlight is the Christmas Carols at Kirstenbosch, from Thursday, 12 December to Sunday, 15 December, at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
It’s the perfect spot to belt out holiday classics under the stars, surrounded by the lush beauty of one of the world’s most iconic gardens.
James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, says that the Mother City has something for every vibe.
“Cape Town’s festive calendar is packed with incredible events, and the Carols at Kirstenbosch are just the opening act! Picture yourself singing your heart out under the stars, then heading to the V&A Waterfront to soak up the legendary New Year’s Eve buzz. Fireworks, live music, and amazing energy are everywhere you turn! From stylish dining experiences to epic parties and laid-back beach days, Cape Town has something for every vibe. It’s a perfect time for visitors to experience the best of what we offer, and for locals, it’s an opportunity to see our city shine in full festive spirit.” Vos said.
A final toast to Dezemba
“As we wrap up 2024, let’s toast to the adventures ahead,” says Duminy. “Grab your sunnies, pack your picnic basket, and dive headfirst into the Dezemba vibe. Cape Town is calling – think beach days, outdoor markets, festive feasts, and that undeniable Cape Town spirit that makes Dezemba unforgettable. Because life’s too short not to dance in the sand.”
