Campus Beats star Shruti Sinha feels her character on the show has quite strong beliefs about women empowerment. The actress opened up about prepping for the role and also mentioned that quite a few Indian movies helped her in understanding and portraying this character. Speaking about inspiration Shruti has taken from strong women-centric films, the actress said among the films she came across, it was the Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut starrer Fashion that truly inspired her.

Opening about how the film played a key role in Shruti becoming Netra Lokhande on screen, she said, “One female centric movie that stood out for me was Fashion. I love how it shows the reality and struggles of the entertainment industry, from the selection process to achieving great heights, and the transient nature of fame. It depicts how one can be replaced at any moment and the mental fortitude required to handle it. The film has beautifully shown how sometimes fame can get to your head, making you feel above friends and family until reality grounds you again.”
Shruti went on to elaborate, “The movie talks about pursuing dreams despite setbacks. These elements make ‘Fashion’ a movie I absolutely love. Both the female characters are so complex but at the same time so powerful. If I ever get a chance to be in such a film, it would be a dream come true for me”.
Campus Beats is a coming-of-age drama with three seasons and it streams on Amazon MiniTV. The series also stars Shantanu Maheshwari in a leading role along with Tanvi Gadkari, Sahaj Singh Chahal, Harsh Dingwanii, Dhanshree Yadav in key roles.
