Cadbury have announced that their 38g Mini Egg Carton has become the latest chocolate to be discontinued.
With Easter just around the corner, this has left fans annoyed that they will no longer be able to purchase this sweet treat.
The surprising news was announced by the brand themselves on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this week.
A member of their team told a fan on the platform that they had seen the last of the product.
The fan had asked whether the Cadbury Mini Eggs cartons were still being made this year after failing to locate them, with stores listing them as out of stock “pretty much everywhere”.
In response to his claim, the UK confectionery company replied: “This product will not be returning.
“We’re always listening to our Cadbury fans to ensure our Easter range includes their favourites and reflects their changing tastebuds.
“We’ve made a few changes to reflect this and think our 2024 line-up is egg-cellent, even if we do say so ourselves!”
The news comes just a week after Cadbury fans were left fuming after realising another Easter treat had been scrapped from the supermarkets.
Shoppers have been left asking why after noticing Dairy Milk Marvellous Mix-ups with Oreo have been cut from shelves.
One foodie said: “Whaaaaaat why? These were the only ones I could eat (me having Autism spectrum disorder). I looooved these.”
The sweet snacks came in bite-sized portions, combining classic Cadbury chocolate with iconic Oreo pieces.
A Cadbury spokesperson confirmed the chocolates were discontinued “several” years ago, but did not say exactly when.
They added: “We continuously adapt our product range to ensure it meets changing tastes whilst supporting growth for our customers and our business.”
