BUSTA RHYMES: ‘THANKS FOR HAVING ME BACK’

The American rapper Busta Rhymes recently hinted in a video shared by X user @Zikamnyamane that he’s working on obtaining a South African citizenship.

He says in the video: “Joburg thanks for having me back. Don’t take so long for having me back.”

“Don’t worry about it, I’m working on my citizenship. Blessings upon blessings.”

OKMzansi reports that the rapper is also working on new music with South African musician Mkhululi Siqula aka Heavy K who he met in a club.

The Veeplaas-born hitmaker is reportedly releasing three tracks with the iconic rapper in his upcoming album.

The rapper returned to South Africa in September for the first time in decade to perform at DStv Delicious Festival alongside musician, Jason Derulo.

SOUTH AFRICANS RESPOND TO THE RAPPER VIDEO

@tiromanro: “These guys during their peak era never thought of coming here. Now as they are old and broke, they want us to call them to come here and perform.”

@jonny_2cold: ” Why not just move back to your homeland? Immigrants lack ethnic pride. Move to a country someone else built waiving your garbage flag should be punishable by death.”

Hasss215: Not Black American, he is Jamaican American for the people confused.”

@tallyohhh: “Oh, he saying he’s getting Johannesburg citizenship, not American citizenship.”

@joseph_kalimbwe: “How come the Patriots ain’t telling him to go back to his country? How can he even want a South Africa citizenship.”
