THE ref who sent Rangers into a frenzy by sending off Jefte against Dynamo Kyiv was once SUSPENDED by his own federation.
Marco Guida faced the wrath of manager Philippe Clement at full-time as the Light Blues crashed out of Champions League qualifying on Tuesday night.
The Belgian boss was not happy with the Italian official who booked the Brazilian defender twice – the second and definitive caution proving controversial.
In the second half, the 20-year-old challenged for a high ball with Dynamo‘s Oleksandr Karavayev who hit the deck, which was enough for the man in the middle to give the Gers man his marching orders.
And it proved a key moment in the match as the hosts went on to lose two late goals, condemning them to Europa League football this season.
Clement – who confronted Guida on the pitch at full-time – was left fuming with the call, and later labelled the call as the worst decision he’s seen in 30 YEARS.

The Belgian said: “It’s a very decisive moment and in the end it has killed the dream of a dressing room, it has killed the dream of more than 50,000 fans, and you expect a better level in decision-making.
“This is for me the worst decision I’ve seen in more than 30 years.”
And it turns out it’s not the only time the ref has come under criticism, with Serie A bosses suspending him and his VAR assistant for a handful of matches following a controversial match between Torino and Inter two years ago.
Former Serie A referee Paolo Casarin said that “even a two-year child’ would have spotted the penalty for Torino against Inter”.
