According to reports from Koreaboo, several trucks bearing inflammatory messages against Suga were recently seen circulating through Seoul.
These vehicles displayed strong condemnations of the rapper, including accusations that labeled him a ‘criminal’. One prominent message read, “Told his fans to be confident, came back to them with a DUI. Drunk driver Suga, D-Day to leave the group is today. 7-1=6. Armys will complete the group. Drunk driver Suga out. Kick Suga out of BTS. We do not need a criminal who deceives fans. Suga, leave the group on your own will before things get uglier”.
The appearance of these protest trucks quickly garnered attention on social media, prompting an outpouring of support for Suga from his devoted fanbase. Many BTS ARMY members were quick to denounce the protests, labeling the demands for Suga’s removal as ‘absurd’ and accusing the protesters of spreading false information.
One fan commented, “This is the most absurd thing I’ve seen in a while. Sending trucks is meaningless when the police are already investigating. Don’t do something just because you want to”. Another fan expressed frustration at the misinformation, stating, “Anti fans brought the trucks with notifications to withdraw Suga from the group!!! News said that Army did it! NOOOO!!! Rumors and lies!!!”
The controversy began when Suga was reportedly involved in an incident while riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol. He was discovered fallen on the ground by patrolling officers and subsequently taken to the police station. There, his blood alcohol content was found to be 0.227%, leading to the revocation of his driver’s license. Following the incident, Suga issued a public apology, acknowledging his mistake and expressing regret for his actions. He stated, “I am deeply sorry and heavy-hearted to come to you with such disappointing news. Last night, after having drinks at a dinner, I rode an electric scooter to go home. With the complacent thought that it was a short distance and without realizing that using an electric scooter while intoxicated is prohibited, I violated traffic laws”.
