The British monarch, King Charles revealed a side effect of his cancer treatment while visiting the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop, Hampshire, with his son Prince William on Monday 13 May.

King Charles III revealed that he lost his sense of taste since undergoing cancer treatment. The 75-year-old made the reportedly made the revelation while visiting the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop, Hampshire with his eldest son, Prince William, according to Daily Mail.

The publication reported that King Charles confided in British Army veteran, Aaron Mapplebeck, when he revealed he suffered a loss of his own taste while receiving chemotherapy for testicular cancer. King Charles then reportedly chimed in, saying he also suffered a “loss of taste” when undergoing treatment for cancer. The type of cancer that King Charles has is undisclosed.

Prince William and King Charles made a rare appearance at the museum. According to Page Six, the proud dad officially made his son the Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.

“Let me just say what a great joy it is to be with you even briefly on this occasion but also it is tinged with great sadness after 32 years of knowing you all, admiring your many activities and achievements through the time that I’ve been lucky enough to be Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps,” said King Charles in a speech in front of veterans and their families.

King Charles gushed over his son, saying that Prince William is “very good pilot, so that’s encouraging.” Prince William is next in line to the throne.

THE BRITISH MONARCH RETURNS TO ROYAL DUTIES

This comes after King Charles returned to public duties on 30 April, following his cancer diagnosis. He was accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla as they visited a cancer treatment centre to mark his first public duty since taking some time off.

“His Majesty The King will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis. To help mark this milestone, The King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients. This visit will be the first in a number of external engagements His Majesty will undertake in the weeks ahead,” read the statement.

Buckingham Palace announced King Charles’ cancer diagnosis via a statement on 5 February. In March, King Charles’ daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton revealed that she also had cancer in an emotional video shared on Twitter.
